Odisha: Two arrested with weapons in robbery case at petrol pump
Within two days of the robbery case at Odisha petrol pump, the Jhirapani police solved the case. Along with arresting the two accused in the case, two indigenous pistols used in it, three live cartridges, two Scooties and cash were also seized.
Rourkela, Odisha: Within two days of the robbery case at the Oram Filling Station petrol pump in Jagda, the Jhirapani police solved the case. Along with arresting two accused in this case, two indigenous pistols used in it, three live cartridges, two scooties and cash were also seized. A case was registered against both of them and produced in the court from where they were sent to jail.
DSP Zone-1 Sangram Kesari Behera and Jhirapani police station in-charge Manas Ranjan Barik said that there was an armed robbery at Oram Filling Station in Jagda under Jhirapani police station at around 9.30 pm on March 21. Many times the accused were seen roaming around the petrol pump and were looking for an opportunity.
On the night of the incident, five were charged with two scooties and a bike. Three people were outside, while two people went inside the petrol pump to carry out the incident. Along with intimidating the personnel by showing pistols and daggers, cash was robbed of Rs 52,500 from the cash counter. While running away, the accused had also fired two rounds.
After the incident, a special squad was formed on the instructions of SP Mukesh Kumar Bhamo. It also included IIC Bisra, IIC Bandamunda, IIC Sector-19, IIC Plant Site along with Jhirapani Police. The police team started investigating by collecting CCTV camera footage installed nearby. An accused was identified in this and his case was resolved within two days of the incident.
The 20-year-old Mohammad Ameen Raja and 25-year-old Ejaz Ansari were arrested. They had two pistols, three live cartridges, a dagger.Cash of Rs 49.310 and two scooties have been seized from them. One of the seized scooties was stolen from the Chhend police station area on the night of 15 March. Other accused involved in the incident are being searched.
