A 16-year-old girl was attacked by a shark in Australia's Swan River. The badly injured girl has died in the attack. The girl had jumped into the river on seeing the dolphin.

A 16-year-old girl was attacked by a shark in a river in Perth, Australia. A badly injured minor has died in a shark attack. Police has informed about this. Police said that they got information about the incident at around quarter to four.

"The shark attack occurred near the Traffic bridge in the Swan River in the Fremantle Port area," police said. The police also said in the statement that the girl was pulled out of the water along with serious thieves. He died on the spot itself. 

The girl jumped into the river to see the dolphins

The Australian Broadcasting Corp (ABC) reported that the girl was on a jet ski. On seeing the dolphin, he jumped into the water. Then the shark attacked. ABC further reported that agencies are yet to determine what type of shark attacked the girl.

Let us tell you that the last shark attack in Western Australian river took place in November 2021. When a 57-year-old man was killed by a great white shark off Perth's Port Beach. And in January 2021, a man was seriously attacked by a bull shark while swimming in the Swan River.

Significantly, more than 100 species of sharks are found in Western Australia. According to the government, the risk of shark attacks in the country is low. A dedicated shark response unit has been established in response to shark incidents.

Many beaches closed

Last February, several beaches on the east coast, including the famous Bondi and Bronte, were closed after a swimmer was killed in a shark attack. This was the first such death on the beach in 60 years.
