Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' said on Saturday that the dates of the class X and XII board examinations will be announced on 31 December. He tweeted, "I will announce on 31 December when the examinations of students appearing for the CBSE board examination will start in the year 2021."
At the same time, he has informed in a conversation with a private channel before that that the examinations will not be conducted online. Actually, in a conversation with a private channel, the education minister has said that he will give the full outline of the exam tomorrow. He has said that it is being considered not to conduct online exams. In such a situation, how can the offline examinations be conducted and what will be the date of the exam, the education minister can announce tomorrow.
Earlier, during the interaction with teachers across the country, the Education Minister had informed on 22 December 2020 that CBSE Board examinations would not be started till February 2021. The Education Minister had said that the dates for conducting the examinations will be announced only after an assessment of the current situation. Please tell that usually CBSE board examinations are conducted during the month of February-March. However, this time the announcement of the dates of board examinations is being delayed due to academic activities which have been disrupted due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
Exams will not be held in February
Earlier this week, Nishank refused to conduct the 10th and 12th board examinations till February in view of the circumstances of the Covid-19 Mahamari. Experimental exams usually begin in January and written exams take place in February.
Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had said on Tuesday that in view of the situation of Covid-19, the 10th and 12th board examinations will not be held till February next year and after February, when the examinations will be conducted, discussions will be given soon.
While communicating with the teachers through digital about the conduct of board examination, Nishank had said that it would not be possible to conduct board examination till the month of January-February. After February, when the examinations can be held, different parties will consider the views and further information will be given.
Demand to extend the date of board examinations by about 3 months
Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, "Studying online is a big challenge for students who are constantly away from school college. But students should always be ready to turn this challenge into an opportunity." Many parents across the country want the date of board exams to be extended by about 3 months. The parents have sent a proposal to the Ministry of Education regarding extension of the date of board examinations. According to this proposal, parents want the board examinations to be held in May or thereafter.
