WHO chief expressed concern

WHO chief Gebreyes during his weekly press conference has appealed to China to give a complete detailed information on the severity of COVID, the number of patients admitted to the hospital and the needs of intensive care. He said that the WHO is very concerned in view of the deteriorating situation in China. The news of Corona in China is increasing day by day.

Gebreyes also said that WHO is supporting China to focus its efforts to vaccinate the most at-risk people across the country. Apart from this, we will continue to support China to protect its medical care and health system.

Zero Covid policy implemented in China from the year 2020

Let us inform that China had implemented the Zero Covid policy from the year 2020, which was abolished by the government in the beginning of December this year without issuing any notice. China did this because the public was fed up with the government's zero-covid policy and it was affecting the economic situation as well. As soon as China ended its zero covid policy, the cases of corona started increasing rapidly. At present, there is a threat to the life of the elderly in China and the fear of increasing their death rate has also arisen.

COVID deaths

Chinese officials said on December 20 that only deaths due to respiratory failure due to corona would now be counted under the COVID death toll. This change in criteria for recording corona deaths means that now covid deaths will not be counted.

China said on 21 December that no person had died from Corona on 20 December. WHO's emergency chief Michael Ryan has stressed the need to increase vaccination. Also said that 'we have been saying for weeks that it is very difficult to completely stop this highly contagious virus, if we only continue to adopt public health and social measures"
