Indian team's experienced batsman Virat Kohli scored a brilliant century in the first match of the three ODI series against Sri Lanka. Kohli scored the 45th century of his ODI career on Tuesday (January 10) in Guwahati. During this, Virat equaled a record of Sachin Tendulkar and broke a record. This is Kohli's first century at home since November 2019. This is the 73rd century of his international career.

This is Kohli's ninth century in ODIs against Sri Lanka. In this case, he left behind Sachin Tendulkar (eight centuries). However, Sachin's record for scoring the most centuries in ODIs against a single team is against Australia. Sachin has scored nine centuries against Australia. At the same time, Kohli has scored nine centuries against the West Indies.

Apart from this, Virat has scored 20th ODI century on the home ground. In terms of scoring the most centuries at home, he has equaled Tendulkar. Sachin scored 20 of his 49 centuries in India. At the same time, 29 times he had played a century on the foreign ground. At the same time, Kohli has scored 20 centuries in India and 25 centuries abroad.

Kohli has scored the most runs against Sri Lanka in his ODI career. He did so in this innings. Earlier, he had the highest 2261 runs against the West Indies. Virat has scored 2083 against Australia and 1403 against South Africa.
