Kisan Andolan: The anti-agriculture law movement has not remained untouched by political aspirations.

The agitation going on on the Delhi-Haryana and UP border against the agricultural laws is about to enter the eighth month. The movement led by the United Kisan Morcha is said to be kept away from politics, but the movement is not untouched by politics. Because so far the Morcha has not taken any action on Rakesh Tikait, who often talks politically, nor has he given any statement about him.

In fact, Gurnam Singh Chaduni had advised farmer organizations to enter the elections under Mission Punjab. Terming his statement as political and election rhetoric, the United Front suspended him for seven days. However, this is not the first time political rhetoric has occurred in the movement. Rakesh Tikait, an important member of the United Kisan Morcha and the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, has often been making such statements. He had said that the farmers are upset after the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir. Not only this, despite the announcement of Morcha, leaders like Jayanti Chaudhary of RLD, Abhay Chautala of INLD have shared the stage with them. Apart from this, he has also been giving controversial statements like setting fire to crops in the fields, but till now no action has been taken against him nor has any statement been given against him by the front.

Giving an example, he said that there was a government of Bhajan Lal in Haryana in 1994, they opened fire, we uprooted its roots. Then came Bansilal's government, did not do any work for the farmers, Satnali incident happened. We also threw them out of power. Omprakash Chautala benefited from this. came to power, but he also did not listen to the farmers. He said that our thinking is negative that it has to be defeated. We are not thinking about whom to make. If the system needs to change, we have to plan. Organizations from Punjab are taking an active role in this movement. If they go to the polls and take power in their hands, a model will be ready.
