A company in China has organized a challenge to encourage its employees to lose weight. In this challenge, an employee who lost weight got $2,800 (about Rs 2.5 lakh).

According to the South China Morning Post report, Shenzhen-based tech firm Arashi Vision Inc. is making headlines due to its annual 'Million Yuan Weight Loss Challenge'. The company has so far given 20 lakh yuan i.e. about Rs 2.4 crore to the employees as prize money.

How much weight is lost?

All employees are eligible to register for this challenge and participants are given a cash prize of 500 yuan for every 500 grams of weight lost. Interestingly, this challenge also includes a penalty rule. Participants who gain weight again have to pay a fine of 800 yuan (Rs 9,337) for every half kilogram of weight gain.
