Tandav Web Series boils down to politics, MP government minister has written a warning to Amazon CEO

The web series Tandav, based on the background of politics, has now boiled in politics and the web series of Amazon Prime, released on January 15, continues to grow. The series is being fiercely opposed from social media to the streets for allegations of insulting the religious sentiments of the Hindu community. At the same time, police reports have also been filed in some places.

Now Madhya Pradesh government minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang has written a letter to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos through social media warning of boycott of Amazon in the event of not removing the series. Also, Information Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar has also demanded action. However, the Ministry of Information Broadcasting has already sent summons to Amazon officials.

Sarang has tagged his letter to the Amazon CEO on Twitter, with which he wrote - Prime's web series Tandav's extremely objectionable and inflammatory content has hurt the sentiments of more than 100 crore Hindus around the world. I ask you to remove the series, otherwise be prepared to watch Amazon's buyout. In his tweet, Sarang has also tagged Information Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar.

In his letter, Sarang wrote that these days anything content is being created on OTT platforms, which depict violence, obscenity, sexuality and the use of drugs. More than this, the religious sentiments of the Hindu majority population of the country are hurt. In the Tandav, Hindu deities are not just insulted, but it is an attempt to spread social disharmony by ridiculing the weaker section of the society.

Earlier in another tweet, Sarang wrote - Making a cross on the face of Hindu deity Shivji is a fun behavior with Hindu faith. I demand a ban on such series. We have to attack the thinking of such a filmmaker so that no one can make this mistake again.

Meanwhile, Protem Speaker of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Rameshwar Sharma appealed to Prakash Javadekar to ban Tandav for mocking Hindu deities.

Earlier, Maharashtra BJP leader Ram Kadam has also lodged a police report against the series and has demanded the Information Broadcasting Minister to ban the series. On Monday, BJP leader Kapil Mishra also sent a legal notice to Amazon Prime Video. He posted the pictures of the notice with his tweet and wrote - Legal notice has been sent to Amazon Prime to immediately remove the Tandav series from the platform. Otherwise, be prepared for criminal proceedings. The notice has been sent by Advocate Yukti Rathi.

On the other hand, FIRs have been lodged at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow against the series director Ali Abbas, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, writer Gaurav Solanki and head India original content Amazon Aparna Purohit.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati tweeted to demand removal of objectionable scenes from the Tandav web series. Mayawati tweeted - In the Tandav web series, protests are being held for some scenes that hurt religious and ethnic sentiments, in respect of which whatever is objectionable, it would be appropriate to remove them so that peace anywhere in the country , The atmosphere of harmony and mutual brotherhood should not be disturbed.

Controversial scene of Tandav web series

The first episode of the web series showed that Shiva Shekhar is symbolically playing Lord Shiva. He addresses the students and says, after all, whom do you want freedom from. The second artist says, 'Narayana-Narayana. God do something. Ramji's followers are constantly increasing on social media. I think we should also devise some new strategies. Shiva says, "What should I do if I change the picture?" On this, the artist says that you are very naive.
