Big loss for South Africa in India, explosive all-rounder out of T20 World Cup

The South Africa cricket team is currently in India, where after the completion of the T20 series, it is now playing the ODI series. After this series, the African team will leave for Australia for the T20 World Cup. However, even before the start of the tournament, the South African team has suffered a major setback in India. The team not only lost the T20 series, but it got an even bigger blow from this defeat due to the injury of its best all-rounder Dwayne Pretorius, who is now out of the World Cup.

Injury in third match

Cricket South Africa on Thursday 6 October informed about Pretorius' injury and out of the World Cup before the start of the ODI series between India and South Africa. CSA said that Pretorius, a right-arm medium pacer and attacking lower-order batsman, suffered a hand injury during the third T20 match played in Indore, due to which he was ruled out of the ODI series as well as the World Cup.

The South African Board issued a statement on Twitter and told about this. According to the statement, all-rounder Dwayne Pretorius has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against India and the subsequent T20 World Cup due to a fracture in his left thumb.

Replacement announcement soon

Now the question is, who will replace him in the South African squad? Just as the Board of Control for Cricket in India has not announced the change of Jasprit Bumrah, in the same way, the South African Board has not yet given information about the replacement of Pretorius. By the way, there are two all-rounders in the South African squad for the World Cup in the form of reserve players Andile Phehlukwayo and Marco Yanson and only one of them will get a place.

Incidentally, India and South Africa, who have suffered the injuries of two important players, are in the same group. India and South Africa are in Group 2 in the Super-12 round. South Africa's first match will be on 24 October with the team qualifying from the first round. At the same time, it will compete with Team India on 30 October.
