Tamil Nadu: BJP's manifesto promises cow slaughter, law on conversion
BJP has released its manifesto for Tamil Nadu assembly elections. It promises to enact a law to stop cow slaughter and has made laws on conversion.
Releasing the manifesto on Monday evening, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that if the party comes to power, "strict anti-conversion laws" will be enforced in the state to claim "forced or deceived conversion" as a crime.
The BJP has stated in the manifesto that along with the enforcement of anti-cow slaughter law, there will be a complete ban on cow smuggling in Kerala and other states.
Apart from this, the BJP has also assured to free the Hindu temples from the control of the state government.
Gadkari said that farmers have been given the highest priority in the BJP manifesto.
With this, the BJP has promised to bring the state to the first place in terms of creating 50 lakh new jobs and ease of doing business in the state.
There has also been a promise of giving free tablets to school students of class 8th and 9th.
Like farmers, fishermen have also been asked to provide financial assistance of six thousand rupees every year and a commitment has been made to ban liquor.
Along with this, there has also been talk of making multi-specialty government hospitals in every district.
BJP has promised free two-wheel driving license to girls between 18 and 23 years.
