Sandeep Kumar Pathak, a resident of Hathras, has lodged a complaint against Geetanjali Shri's novel 'Rand Samadhi' in Kotwali. Pathak alleges that Geetanjali Shree has made objectionable references and used words about Hindu deities Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Pathak had also tweeted the complaint to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Director General of Police. After this, the local police assured action after the investigation in the matter.

According to media reports, the complainant Pathak has lodged a complaint against Geetanjali Shree in Sadabad police station area. But till now the police has not filed a report on his complaint. In this case, the police of Hathras says that a complaint has been given against the writer Geetanjali Shree. But the report has not been filed.

According to the information, Ram Bharat Upadhyay, spokesperson of Abhinandan Samiti, to be held in Agra, issued a press release saying that his novel is being forcibly dragged into political controversy. He says that whatever information is given in the novel is part of the mythological and classical literature of India.
