Renowned film star Dharmendra passed away on Monday morning at his Mumbai home after a prolonged illness. He was 89 years old and had been battling breathing problems for several days. Dharmendra passed away a few days before his 90th birthday on December 8, 2025. His last rites were performed at the Vile Parle crematorium in Mumbai. Dharmendra was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on October 31st due to breathing problems and was discharged on November 12th.

Several stars, including Salman and Aamir, attended the funeral.

Dharmendra's last rites were performed by his sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. His second wife, Hema Malini, was also present. Many Bollywood celebrities, including his co-stars Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Aamir Khan, attended the funeral.

Many politicians, including PM Modi, expressed condolences.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, among others, shared condolence messages for the actor on social media. Bollywood actors also expressed their condolences and paid tribute to the actor on social media.

Dharmendra's Last Film

Dharmendra's last film is Sriram Raghavan's highly anticipated war drama "Ekkis," which will mark Dharmendra's final appearance on the big screen. He will be seen alongside Amitabh Bachchan's grandson, Agastya Nanda. A poster of Dharmendra from the film was released today. The film will be released in theaters on December 25, 2025.

Dharmendra was born in 1935 and would have turned 90 on December 8th. He has acted in over 300 films and was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.
