Google has announced its Startup Accelerator Program. The Google For Startups accelerator is inviting applications for its eighth cohort with a focus on AI-first startups, the company announced in a blogpost on Thursday.
It added that Indian startups funded from Seed to Series A stage can apply for the three-month program till August 22, 2023. Let us tell you about it in more detail.
What is Google for Startups Accelerator Program
Google has said that we are looking for Indian AI-first startups working in diverse areas to solve complex problems and tackle the toughest challenges in their industry. As per the announcement, the selected startups will receive mentorship and training on product, design, development and leadership development.
Google said the seventh class of the accelerator program will run from June 2023, enrolling 20 seed to Series A startups such as LimeChat, Kuroz and Health AI.

The company said that founders can continue to receive support after the program ends through the Google for Startups alumni network. The Google India for Startups Accelerator is an equity-free program for Indian technology startups leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML).
India is the world's third largest startup capital
India is home to the third largest startup capital in the world, behind only the US and China. More than 100 unicorns have been made in the country, out of which 22 unicorns have been made in 2022 alone. These span across e-commerce, healthtech, fintech and many more. However, only 15 per cent of these Indian unicorns have one or more female founders.
