HARQATT: More Than a Band, A Shared Journey
Every band begins with a dream.
A dream of creating music that connects with people, performing on stages across the country, and building something that lasts beyond a single song. For HARQATT, that dream started in New Delhi under the vision of drummer, composer, and founder Vishal Mehta. What began as a passion for original music has grown into a journey of friendship, resilience, creativity, and constant evolution.
The audience often sees the final performance—the lights, the energy, and the applause. What they rarely see are the countless rehearsals, late-night songwriting sessions, difficult decisions, creative discussions, and unwavering commitment that make those moments possible.
Being in a band is unlike any other relationship. It brings together talented musicians, each with unique personalities, musical influences, ambitions, and ways of thinking. Sometimes those ideas blend effortlessly, and sometimes they challenge one another. That balance is what shapes the identity of a band.
As time passes, people naturally grow. New opportunities arise, personal priorities change, and individual journeys take different directions. Every musician deserves the freedom to follow their own path, and HARQATT believes those choices should always be respected. At the same time, every departure leaves behind a responsibility that often goes unnoticed.
When one member steps away, the band doesn’t simply lose an instrument—it must rebuild rehearsals, recreate chemistry, rearrange performances, honour existing commitments, and continue delivering the quality that audiences expect. Behind every lineup change are weeks, sometimes months, of hard work that the audience never sees.
For independent bands, these challenges are part of everyday life. Securing live performances has become increasingly competitive. Venues have changed, audience expectations continue to evolve, and original music often competes with commercial entertainment. Yet these challenges have only strengthened HARQATT’s belief that authentic music still has the power to bring people together.
The band continues to move forward with an exceptional team of musicians and professionals who share one common goal: creating music that is honest, energetic, and meaningful. Every rehearsal, every performance, and every new song reflects the determination to keep building something that stands the test of time.
Founder Vishal Mehta has spent years shaping this vision. His earlier releases, Alone (2017), Only You (2021), and a 2019 single that continues to be performed live have become important milestones in his musical journey. Those experiences now form the foundation upon which HARQATT continues to grow.
The band’s next milestone is its most ambitious yet—an upcoming album featuring 14 original songs. More than just a collection of music, the album captures years of experiences, relationships, challenges, celebrations, and hope. It tells the story of a band that has refused to stop believing in its music, regardless of the obstacles along the way.
HARQATT understands that a band’s greatest strength is not found in perfect circumstances but in its ability to evolve. Musicians may come and go, trends may change, and the road may become difficult, but the vision remains the same—to create music that leaves an impact and performances that audiences remember long after the final note.
This is not simply the story of HARQATT. It is the story of every band that has ever believed in a dream larger than any one individual.
Because in the end, bands are not defined by the people who leave.
They are defined by the people who continue to create, continue to believe, and continue to play.
And for HARQATT, the best chapter is still waiting to be written.
