IND vs SA 1st ODI: The first match of the 3-match ODI series between India and South Africa was played at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Due to rain, the match was reduced to 40 overs in which India captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and decided to bowl first. 

After this, South Africa scored 249 for 4 in 40 overs in the first innings and gave India a target of 250 runs to win. In the second innings, India scored 240 for 8 in 40 overs on the back of Sanju Samson's unbeaten half-century and India lost by 9 runs. After this defeat, Team India went 0-1 behind in the three-match ODI series.

India's innings, Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson's half-centuries

Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill came to bat for India. India got the first blow in the form of Shubman Gill. Shubman Gill was clean bowled out after scoring 3 runs off 7 balls off Rabada. At the same time, India got the second blow in the sixth over. Wayne Parnell dismissed Shikhar Dhawan. India got the third blow in the form of Rituraj Gaikwad.

Rituraj Gaikwad was stumped off Tabrez Shamsi's delivery. Rituraj Gaikwad was dismissed for 19 runs off 42 balls. Ishan Kishan was dismissed by spinner Keshav Maharaj in the 18th over. Quinton de Kock was out for the fourth wicket. He was dismissed lbw by Ravi Bishnoi on a personal score of 48 runs. David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen have scored half-centuries for South Africa. David Miller scored 75 runs off 63 balls. Heinrich Klaasen scored 74 off 65 balls.
