Mercedes-Maybach S-Class luxury car launched in India, know the price and its powerful engine

Luxury vehicle manufacturer Mercedes has launched Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in the Indian market. The company claims that this car is the ultra luxury car of its segment. Let's know about this car's features and prices.

Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Price

Talking about the price, the Mercedes S 580 is priced at 2.5 crores. At the same time, the price of S 680 is Rs 3.2 crore.

Let us tell you, this is the second model of the Maybach line of super luxury vehicles to be launched in India after the Maybach GLS which was launched in June 2021. The Maybach S-Class is based on the current generation V223 S-Class. However, this iteration of the flagship limousine offers 180 mm longer wheelbase than the longer wheelbase version of the standard S-Class.

Maybach S-Class: More luxurious than S-Class This means while the cabin is definitely more luxurious than the standard S-Class, it will also be more spacious. It has been launched in two trims - S 580 and S 680. Both are sold out for the year 2022. The S 580 will be locally assembled through a CKD (completely knocked down) kit at the Mercedes Benz plant in Chakan near Pune in Maharashtra.

The Maybach S-Class has received significant styling updates as compared to the regular S-Class, giving it a distinct identity. It gets a Maybach-style radiator grille, with vertical pinstripes, front bumper, window trim and alloy wheels completely visible in chrome.

Inside this luxury vehicle, you will find features like a 12.3-inch OLED touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-litre refrigerator, a panoramic sunroof etc.

There will be two different engine options in the Maybach S-Class. Powering the S 580 will be a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. This powertrain generates an output of 503 hp and peak torque of 700 Nm. This car accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 4.8 seconds

On the other hand, the S 680 comes with a bigger 6.0-litre V12 that churns out 612 hp of power and 900 Nm of peak torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph. Both the powertrain options come with a nine-speed automatic transmission as standard. The driving dynamics are aided by the presence of air damping suspension which makes the ride even more luxurious.
