After breaking ties with the NDA, Jd(U)'s Nitish Kumar, along with RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, has formed a grand alliance government in Bihar for the second time. Apart from RJD, Nitish Kumar has got the support of Congress, Left parties, HAM. Nitish Kumar took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the eighth time on Tuesday. Tejashwi Yadav also took oath as deputy CM at the ceremony. After this, the Council of Ministers will be formed. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Phagu Chauhan at Raj Bhavan. On this occasion, Tejashwi Yadav arrived with his wife.

Nitish Kumar first became the Chief Minister for seven days in the year 2000, after which he has been sworn in as CM seven times so far. After weeks of tension between jd(U) and BJP over a host of issues, including caste census, population control and 'Agneepath' defence recruitment scheme and retaining Kumar's former confidant RCP Singh as Union cabinet minister, all MPs and MLAs of the regional party created a ruckus at the conference at the chief minister's residence on Tuesday morning.The decision he took was to quit the NDA and join hands with the Grand Alliance, which he had rejected five years ago in 2017.
