WhatsApp to have 'lock chat' feature for android Beta users
One of the most popular social media platform 'WhatsApp' will have 'lock chat' feature for Android Beta users. It will allow the users to lock chats and keep them hidden
Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new "Lock Chats" feature for Android beta that will allow users to lock chats and keep them hidden.
As per wABetaInfo report, this new feature will improve the privacy of the users as it will help the users to lock their most private chats within the contact or group info of the chat.
When a chat is locked, it can only be accessed using the user's fingerprint or passcode, making it nearly impossible for anyone else to open the chat.
Also, if someone tries to access the user's phone and fails to provide the required authentication, he/she will be asked to clear the chat to open it.
The feature also helps keep media private by ensuring that photos and videos sent in a locked chat aren't automatically saved to the device's gallery.
The report states that the ability to lock chats is currently under development and is expected to be released in a future update to the application.
Meanwhile, on Friday it was reported that the messaging platform is rolling out a new text editor experience to some beta testers on Android Beta.
