20 people were referred
Jim Ireland, director of Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, said 11 hospitalized passengers were in serious condition, while the others were in stable condition. The Medical Service statement said 36 people were admitted for treatment. Of this, 20 people were later shifted for further treatment. Most of the passengers have suffered head injuries.
Three flight attendants were among the injured.
John Snook, chief operating officer of Hawaiian Airlines, said this type of turbulence was different and unusual, noting that the airline had not experienced anything like it in recent history. He said three flight attendants were also among the injured.
In a conversation with Hawaii News Now, a passenger, Kaylee Reyes, told that her mother fell as soon as the plane started waving. He didn't even get a chance to fasten the safety belt. She jumped into the plane and fell down after hitting the roof.
