Speculation continues in Pakistan regarding the appointment of a new army chief. Meanwhile, Pakistan People's Party chief and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has clarified that the country will only accept the army chief appointed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He alone has its constitutional power. If President Arif Alvi tries to interfere, he will have to face the consequences.

The Foreign Minister said, according to the constitution, the power of appointment rests with the PM Bilawal said that the President has the last chance to stand on the right side by upholding the Constitution, but there will be consequences if he tries to block the Prime Minister's authority, The News International reported. Bilawal said this in response to a question whether President Arif Alvi has stopped the process initiated by the Prime Minister regarding the appointment of the army chief. Bilawal said that it has to be seen whether he follows the constitution or shows loyalty to his friend. It is noteworthy that the current Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa is retiring on 29 November.

Finance Minister Ishaq met the President to resolve the crisis

The Shehbaz Sharif-led Pakistan government has initiated dialogue with Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party for the first time since coming to power in April. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar met President Arif Alvi on Friday and appealed to resolve the political issue, The Express Tribune reported. 

According to sources, the President has said that he will convey his message to the PTI leadership. The Finance Minister met President Alvi twice in three days. At the same time, when asked on this, PTI has also shown interest in it. She wants that the date of the general elections should be announced as soon as possible. 

Imran's spectacle will end on 26: Maryam Aurangzeb

Contrary to the initiative of the Finance Minister, Maryam Aurangzeb, the second minister of Shahbaz government, has taunted Imran. Pakistan's Information and Communications Minister Maryam said that the spectacle of former Prime Minister Imran Khan will end on 26 November. She was referring to Imran's call to his supporters to reach Rawalpindi on November 26.
