Burhanpur became the first district in the country, where every household water scheme was 100% completed, PM Modi congratulated.
Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh has now become such a district where 'Har Ghar Jal' scheme has been certified 100 percent. That is, clean drinking water is being provided to every family in this district. This claim has been made by the Ministry of Jal Shakti. After this, the Prime Minister, the Union Minister of Jal Shakti, the Chief Minister have also congratulated the people of Burhanpur by tweeting. According to the data released on the portal of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh has become the first certified district to have potable water in every household. The ministry has informed that all 254 gram sabhas of this district have passed a resolution stating that the 'Har Ghar Jal' scheme has reached all the households. Apart from this, it has also been said that with reaching all the houses, now there is no family that is not getting clean drinking water.
Let us inform that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the 'Har Ghar Jal' scheme in 2019 with the aim of providing clean drinking water to every family. After almost three years, the Ministry of Jal Shakti has claimed that there is one district of Madhya Pradesh in which the 'Har Ghar Jal' scheme has been completed 100 percent. It has been told by the ministry that the work of providing water under the Har Ghar Jal Yojana is going on fast. According to the data of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, as on August 15, 2019, only 3 crore 23 lakh 62 thousand 838 families had drinking water connection. Now this number has increased to 9 crore 85 lakh 93 thousand 119 families. According to the government, drinking water connections have been provided to more than half of the total 19 crore households in the country.
In Goa, Telangana, Andaman-Nicobar, Puducherry, Dadra-Nagar Haveli and Haryana, the Har Ghar Jal Yojana has achieved the target of 100 per cent, according to data provided on the ministry's website. However, not all districts of these states have been certified yet. Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh has become the first district in the country which has achieved the target of 100% certified.
