Fire incidents common in China
Fire incidents are quite common in China. Because of this, safety rules are not taken care of in building construction and construction is done under substandard standards. The most horrific accident happened in the year 2000 on Christmas Day. A massive fire broke out in a nightclub in the city of Laoyang in Henan province.
309 people lost their lives in this horrific accident. Due to the fire, the dance hall was filled with so much smoke that people died due to suffocation. This nightclub had only two emergency gates and there were no alarms or sprinklers to report a fire.
