Some workers at the factory of iPhone maker Foxconn in Zhengzhou have been found to be COVID positive. Due to this, a lockdown has been announced in the surrounding area. In April this year also, a lockdown was imposed in this part. 

The ban will remain in force till November 9.

The Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone in central China said not all residents would be allowed out during the restrictions. Only a few vehicles will be allowed to ply on the roads. The restrictions will remain in force till November 9.

70 percent of iPhone manufacturing

Let us tell you that Foxconn is the largest iPhone manufacturer. 70 percent of the world's iPhones are made at the Zhengzhou plant. More than two million employees work in Zhengzhou. Recently, the video of an employee escaping from this iPhone factory went viral. Many workers were seen climbing the wall of the factory.

Foxconn issued a statement

Foxconn issued a statement saying that employees operate under "closed-loop management" on campus as part of the containment measures. Under this arrangement the employees work and live separately.
