These days there is a lot of Chinese gift items in the Chinese Goods market. According to data from the Confederation of All India Traders, this year's Diwali shopping is expected to fetch Rs 2.5 lakh crore in the retail market.

Despite every effort to adopt and spread the goods made in the country, China's dominance is still visible in the festive season. From the lights used to decorate the houses, most of the gift items are seen to be made in China. The figures of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry are also giving witness to this fact.

However, experts also say that the imports from China will make a difference once the implementation of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) announced by the government to start large-scale production of LED lights in India.

India becomes exporter of mobile phones

After the implementation of the PLI scheme related to mobile phone manufacturing, India has become a big exporter from a big importer of mobile phones. How will China's dominance decrease?

Traders said that such imports from China will come down only when production of low-cost gift items and lighting starts in India like China. According to traders, people who are able to pay higher prices prefer products made in India in purchase, but majority of the lower income group give more priority to the price when shopping.
