Cyclone Sitrang: A cyclonic storm knocked on the Bangladesh coast on Tuesday. Due to this 9 people died here. The storm was so strong that trees were uprooted, many houses collapsed, roads were destroyed. Even the communication network got damaged. This information was provided by officers.

'Sitrang' lifted from the Bay of Bengal

Cyclone Sitarang originated from the Bay of Bengal. Due to strong storm Sitarang, the wind was blowing with a speed of 88 kph (55 mph). Most of the people lost their lives due to the falling of trees. No major damage was reported in refugee camps in southeast Bangladesh. Please tell that there are a large number of Rohingya refugees in these camps who have come here from neighboring Myanmar.

Rohingya refugees were warned in risky areas

Rohingya refugees living in flood-prone areas were issued advisories to stay inside the camps as a precautionary measure in view of the storm. Heavy rains lashed the capital's roads, leading to a flood situation in the entire area. There was trouble in transportation. Even the eastern areas of West Bengal did not survive this storm. In the past few years, weather has caused widespread damage in South Asia. Environmentalists warn that climate change will cause more damage here, especially in populated areas of Bangladesh.

Farah Kabir, Bangladesh director of ActionAid Group, said that in the year 2022, due to climate change emergencies such as floods and droughts, there were widespread bad conditions. Such a situation had never been seen before. “The climate crisis is increasing and here in Bangladesh we can feel the dire situation it has created,” he said. We need funds immediately to overcome this crisis.
