Honda aims to sell one million electric vehicles by the end of this decade. For this, the company has completed the feasibility study of the electric scooter. The Japanese company is working with supply chain partners to strengthen local manufacturing capacity. The company will mobilize components from the local level to manufacture vehicles in India itself. All this information has been given by the company's President Atsushi Ogata. E-Scooter to be cheaper than Activa
Honda's upcoming electric scooter may cost less than the Activa. This means that the price of the new electric scooter could be less than Rs 72,000. Honda can launch this electric scooter in the next financial year 2023-24. Honda's upcoming electric scooter will compete with electric scooters from Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor Company and startup companies like Ola Electric and Ather Energy.
30 percent market share
According to reports, the market for electric vehicles will reach 3 million units by 2030. On the other hand, Honda wants to capture 30 percent market share in this segment by launching many models by the end of this decade. According to auto website Gaadiwadi, Honda may use the name Activa for the upcoming electric scooter. For this, the company can also use swappable battery solution.
