The latest incident of violence has taken place in Manipur bordering Myanmar. A mob attacked a transit camp of security forces in Moreh town of Manipur's Tengnoupal district. The mob also set a forest department building on fire. Gunshots were heard. The attack happened a few days after the recent peace in Manipur.
The civil society group claimed that some women had gone to buy daily essentials during the relaxation of curfew in Moreh Bazaar area. During this, some personnel of the security forces allegedly thrashed him. There was a heated debate between the security forces and the women regarding this. Women blocked the market road as a protest.

Police released tear gas

Police sources said that tear gas shells were fired to disperse the crowd. Amidst the uproar, some security forces personnel also opened fire. People in the crowd fired back. Government officials confirmed that the fire broke out in a building of the Forest Department. More security forces have now been deployed in the area.
 

Mob burnt 2 buses of security forces in Kangpokpi

According to a report by news agency PTI, two security forces buses were set ablaze by a mob in Kangpokpi district. It is a matter of pride that there was no loss of life or property during this period. The incident took place in Sapormina when the buses were coming from Dimapur on Tuesday evening.
 

Manipur violence has killed 160 people so far.

Let us tell you that violence broke out during the 'Tribal Solidarity March' organized on May 3 in the hill districts in protest against the demand of Meitai community for granting Scheduled Tribe status in Manipur. So far more than 160 people have died in the violent incidents in the state. Thousands of people have fled.
