PAK Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his son filed a petition in money laundering case, pleaded for acquittal
The hearing in the money laundering case against Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Sharif was to be held today, in which Prime Minister Sharif could not attend. His lawyer said that the Prime Minister is busy with flood relief work.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his son and Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Sharif are facing trial in money laundering case. Today he filed a petition for acquittal in the case after which the hearing was adjourned till September 17. The Special Court of the FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) has registered a money laundering case of 14 billion Pakistani rupees against the father and son. His lawyer told that Shahbaz Sharif and his son have filed a petition for acquittal.
The lawyer sought exemption from the presence of the Prime Minister during the hearing and told that he was busy with flood relief work and hence could not appear for the hearing on Wednesday. Judge Ijaz Hasan Awan questioned the lawyer that even ten minutes' time will not be given to the Prime Minister for hearing. On this, lawyer Amjad Parwaiz said that the Prime Minister will try his best to be present in the next hearing. After this, the judge adjourned the hearing on his acquittal petition till September 17.
While talking to the reporter after the hearing, the lawyer said that the 70-year-old Prime Minister and his 48-year-old son have filed a petition for their acquittal, now the next hearing is to be held on it.
