Ban on live telecast of Imran Khan's speeches

Earlier, the media watchdog in Pakistan had banned the live telecast of former Pakistan Prime Minister Khan's speeches by all satellite television channels with immediate effect.  The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) said in a release on Saturday that television channels have failed to stop airing of content against "government establishments" despite repeated warnings.

Media regulator Pemra said this

It has been observed that Imran Khan, President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, in his speeches/statements is continuously making baseless allegations against government establishments and promoting hate speeches through provocative statements.  Which can make it difficult to maintain law and order situation and there is a possibility of breach of public peace.
