After winning the semi-finals, Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian female wrestler to make it to the final of the Olympics. With this, she had ensured at least a gold or silver medal for the country. However, India's hopes were dashed on the morning of the final. Vinesh Phogat's weight was found to be 100 grams more and she was disqualified. The night before the final, Vinesh's weight was 2 kg more. So she worked hard overnight and lost weight. However, she missed by 100 grams.
