Paris Olympic 2024: Decision in Vinesh Phogat case deferred, will have to wait more

The decision on the medal of the country's female wrestler Vinesh Phogat has been postponed. Before the final, Vinesh Phogat was found overweight. Her weight was 100 grams more, due to which she was disqualified in the 50 kg weight category. After this, she appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sports, on which the decision was to come today. However, this decision has been postponed till August 16. Now the decision on Vinesh's medal will come at 9:30 pm on August 16.

After winning the semi-finals, Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian female wrestler to make it to the final of the Olympics. With this, she had ensured at least a gold or silver medal for the country. However, India's hopes were dashed on the morning of the final. Vinesh Phogat's weight was found to be 100 grams more and she was disqualified. The night before the final, Vinesh's weight was 2 kg more. So she worked hard overnight and lost weight. However, she missed by 100 grams.
