Asian Games 2023: Indian men's hockey team beats Bangladesh 12-0, proudly cuts semi-final ticket
With the help of hat-tricks from captain Harmanpreet Singh and Mandeep Singh, the Indian men's hockey team defeated Bangladesh 12-0 in the Pool A match and entered the semi-finals by coming on top. The Indian team scored 58 goals in five matches of the pool stage and lost only five goals. For India, captain Harmanpreet (2nd, 4th and 32nd minute) and Mandeep Singh scored three goals each.

At the same time, Abhishek (41st and 57th) scored two goals, while Amit Rohidas (28th), Lalit Upadhyay (23rd), Gurjant Singh (56th) and Neelkant Sharma (47th) scored one goal each. Bangladesh team could not attack the Indian goal and once again the Indian goalkeeper remained a silent spectator. Now India will face the second placed team of Pool B in the semi-finals to be held on October 4. India succeeded in converting penalty corners, while also scoring field goals.

Harmanpreet and company cut semi-final ticket
Apart from scoring seven field goals, the Indian team converted five out of 11 penalty corners. India attacked continuously throughout the match and scored six goals each in both the halves. Harmanpreet gave India the lead on the first penalty corner of the match in the very second minute. The captain scored another penalty corner two minutes later. Young Abhishek and Mandeep together scored field goals. Abhishek also assisted in the goals of Mandeep and Lalit. India then got its third penalty corner.
Harmanpreet's attempt was stopped by Bangladesh goalkeeper Mohammad Noyon but Mandeep scored the goal on the rebound. Rohidas scored a penalty corner as India led 6-0 at half-time. India continuously got penalty corners in the second half. Harmanpreet completed her hat-trick by converting a penalty corner. Abhishek then scored a goal with a reverse hit, while Mandeep and Abhishek made brilliant moves to take India ahead 9-0. Neelkanth scored on the rebound after a minute. Gurjant and Abhishek scored two more goals in the last five minutes to ensure India's 12–0 victory.
