WTC Final 2023: Rohit Sharma's befitting reply to Ricky Ponting, "Former cricketer's opinion doesn't matter"
Depending on the conditions and preparations of both the teams, Australia is likely to get an edge over India in the World Test Championship final starting at The Oval on Wednesday. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has presented his opinion on this statement of former Australian captain Ricky Ponting.

Ponting's statement was rejected-

Rohit Sharma dismissed Ponting's statement as his point of view. He said that it doesn't matter what former cricketers and experts say before such a big match. Rohit spoke about the issue at the pre-match press conference in London on Tuesday.

Experts have their own view-

Rohit said that this is Ponting's opinion and he is allowed to speak his mind. He further said that only time can tell which team made better use of the conditions. He said that those who are watching the match or the experts have their own perspective. Former cricketers and experts will talk a lot before the start of the championship.

Rohit told which team will be the winner-

Indian captain Rohit further said that the team which can handle the pressure and use the conditions well will come out on top. He said that it does not matter to us who is saying what because we know what is at stake and we need to focus on that. And that's what the team is about to do.

Responsibilities to handle pressure

Rohit further said that handling the pressure during these five days will be very important as there will be times where one team can put pressure on the other. Apart from this, the Indian team may miss its key players Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Lokesh Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. Rohit said that the players of the current team are fully capable of handling the pressure.
