Former Catholic Pope Benedict has dies in Vatican City. The Pope was 95 years old and had been ill for several days. Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni informed about his death. He told that former Pope Benedict 16th died at 9.34 am in the Mater Ecclesia monastery of the Vatican.

First pope who resigned

Pope Emeritus Benedict has been the 16th Pope in the Vatican and has also been a German theologian. Pope Benedict is the first pope in 600 years to resign. 'It is with sadness that I inform you that Pope Emeritus Benedict passed away at the Mater Ecclesia monastery in the Vatican,' spokesman Matteo Bruni said in a statement.
