Surekha was ill for a long time. He had a brain stroke last year as well, after which his health had not recovered.

Talking to The Indian Express, the manager said, 'Surekha Sikri, who has won the National Award three times, has passed away this morning. His age was 75 years. Ever since Surekha suffered a brain stroke for the second time, she was battling with health issues. All the members of his family are present with him at this time. The family has asked for privacy at this time.

Let us tell you that Surekha was one of the veteran actors of the industry. Born in New Delhi, Surekha lived her life in Almora in Uttar Pradesh and Nainital in Uttarakhand. The actress completed her studies from Aligarh Muslim University and then learned acting at the National School of Drama. The actress started her career in 1978 with the film 'Kissa Kursi Ka'. After this the actress worked in many films and hit serials. Surekha played the role of grandmother in the famous serial 'Balika Vadhu', this character became so famous among the people that people started recognizing Surekha as 'Dadi Sa'. Till date people call her as grandmother only.

Talking about films, the actress has appeared in many films like Tasam, Hari-Bhari, Zubeida, Nazar, Mammo, Sardari Begum, Sarfarosh, Badhaai Ho. Surekha has received National Award for Tamas, Mammo and Badhaai.
