Yogi Sarkar 2.0's bulldozer action against mafia continues, property worth Rs 868 crore seized in 5 months

The scope of action of the UP Police, which has set an example for other states by confiscating the properties collected from the black money of the mafia, is increasing continuously. Under Yogi Sarkar 2.0, assets worth more than Rs 868 crore of mafia and criminals have been confiscated or destroyed in five months so far. Whereas from March, 2017 till now, properties worth more than Rs 1832 crore of 62 mafia gangs listed under the campaign have been confiscated or destroyed. Not only this, the police also killed nine active members of the mafia gang in the encounter.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this action was started in March 2022. After which the number of properties being confiscated by the mafia and criminals under the Gangster Act has been increasing continuously. During this, the police have also freed many valuable properties, including many government plots, from the possession of the mafia in different districts.
Under the campaign, the properties collected from crime of 62 listed mafia and active members of their gang, including Mafia Mukhtar Ansari, Ateeq Ahmed, Badan Singh Baddo, Sunil Rathi, Sushil Mooch, have been on the target of the police administration. Since the formation of Yogi Sarkar 2.0 this year, from March 25 to July 15, properties worth more than Rs 868 crore have been seized.
ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that apart from 50 mafia gangs listed in Uttar Pradesh, action is being ensured under the campaign against 12 other mafia from DGP headquarters level. So far, the police have also cracked down on 900 active members of these gangs. More than 410 cases have been registered in different districts.
History sheets of 289 active members of the mafia gang have also been opened and more than 317 arms licenses have been revoked. Since March 25 this year till now, along with taking action against 229 members of the mafia gang, 34 history sheets have been opened. So far, action has been taken against a total of 13 accused under the National Security Act (NSA).
