US lawmakers have termed China as an 'existential threat' to the US. US lawmakers made this statement during the first hearing on China in the House of Representatives with a majority of the Republican Party.

America considers China aggressive

The lawmakers also called for greater efforts within the country and with its allies to successfully deal with the challenges posed by China. The US has routinely and historically described China's behavior as aggressive.

'It's a struggle for existence'

The name of the recently formed committee is the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). CCP chairman Mike Gallagher said this was not a civilized tennis match.

It is an existential struggle about what life will be like in the 21st century and most of the basic rights are at stake. We have to take immediate steps on this. In the coming ten years, our policy will set the stage for hundreds of years. Indian-origin Raja Kishoremurthy of the Congress supported Gallagher's words.

'Undermining the CCP'

Raja Kishoremurthy said that the Democrats and Republicans have undermined the CCP for the past three decades. Both assumed that trade and investment would certainly lead to democracy and greater security in the Indo-Pacific region, including the PCR.

But exactly the opposite happened. Krishnamurthy said the US should continue to invest in the technology sector. Along with this, manufacturing in America should be improved. We don't want war with PCR. Neither cold war nor hot war. We do not want a clash of civilizations. That's why we have to curb aggression.

'China spies'

Claudia Tenney said that the rapidly growing influence of the Communist Party of China has harmed the American people. Its funded spies steal America's intellectual property and China's unfair trade practices put American industries out of business. Along with this, taking advantage of its economic influence, China is now spreading its dangerous and freedom threatening model in foreign countries as well.
