Arshad Sharif Murder Case: Pak ISI chief Nadeem Anjum made sensational revelations regarding the murder of journalist
Pakistan ISI Chief Nadeem Anjum and ISPR DGP Babar Iftikhar have made sensational revelations in the murder case of Arshad Sharif. He alleged that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had issued a threat warning regarding the journalist.
Pakistan's Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum and Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Chief Lt Gen Babar Iftikhar have made shocking revelations about the murder of journalist Arshad Sharif.
No information was shared with the federal government or security institutions as to who and how informed the KP government that Arshad would be targeted. This shows that the alert was issued with a specific mindset which was probably intended to force Arshad Sharif to leave the country.
Arshad did not want to leave the country
Sama TV quoted General Iftikhar as saying that there are reports that Arshad did not want to leave the country, but was repeatedly told that his life was in danger. At the same time, DG ISPR said that 'Since Arshad was an investigative journalist, he also looked into the cyber issue'.
Journalist interviewed Imran Khan
Geo News reported that he also highlighted that the journalist had also interviewed the then Prime Minister Imran Khan on the issue, at which time it was claimed that he was shown the document. DG ISPR said, "The facts related to the death of Cypher and Arshad Sharif need to be ascertained." Hence there is no ambiguity in this regard.
My policy is clear - General Anjum
In the press conference, General Anjum said, 'I know you may be surprised to see me in your midst. My policy on my promotion and publication of my photographs is clear. My condition is such that I have to live in the shadows, but today is a little different. I have come not for myself but for my department and the officers who laid down their lives for the security of Pakistan and especially for my agency, which works round the clock in every part of the world as the country's first line of defense.
