Australia: 3 feet high statue of former prime minister PV Narasimha Rao to be unveiled in Sydney

P. V. Narasimha Rao; The statue of former Prime Minister of the country PV Narasimha Rao will be unveiled in Sydney, Australia. Narasimha's statue will be unveiled at Homebush Road in Strathfield, Sydney. 

The statue of the former prime minister is being put up by the Indian diaspora. Strathfield Mayor Matthew Blackmore and Strathfield Councilor Sandhya Reddy have also supported the initiative. 

Statue of PV Narasimha Rao now in Australia

PVNR Celebration Committee member and foreign coordinator Mahesh Bigala said Strathfield's mayor and councilor have promised to attend a ceremony being held at the town hall. Mahesh Bigala said that Mahatma Gandhi is the only Indian leader whose statue is installed in Australia. Now we will also have a statue of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao. 

Narasimha Rao's daughter Vani Devi will also be involved

For information, let us tell you that a 3-foot tall statue of Narasimha Rao will be installed at Homebush West Community Center Park in Strathfield. After the statue is installed, a formal meeting will also be held at the venue. The meeting will be attended by Indian diaspora from several cities including Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

Who is Vani Devi?

Mahesh Bigala said that Vani Devi, daughter of P V Narasimha Rao, will also travel from Hyderabad to Sydney to attend the ceremony along with her family. Vani Devi has been elected as MLC in the Telangana Legislative Council election in March 2021 from Mahbubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad graduate constituency.

Mahatma Gandhi is the only Indian leader whose statue has been installed in Australia. The statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Melbourne was unveiled by former Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
