Children infected with coronavirus need to be careful, shocking report came out regarding symptoms of COVID-19

Coronavirus has affected people of all age groups.  From the elderly to children, many people have become victims of coronavirus.  Although the catastrophic effect of coronavirus was not seen on young children, but children who have been infected with corona need to be alert.  According to the news agency PTI, in fact, a report published in The Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal has revealed that children who have been infected with SARS Covid-2, can have mild symptoms of corona in the body of those children for three months.  .  The research, published in The Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal, examined data variants in volunteers aged 5 to 18 years in the US state of Texas.

Delta and Omicron hospitalized many children: report

The data for this study was collected prior to vaccine rollout and during the outbreak of Delta and Omicron variants of the coronavirus.  Professor Sarah Messiah of the Texas Health Sciences Center said, 'We were interested to understand whether children infected with the coronavirus would show persistent symptoms.'  A total of 82 child volunteers reported having prolonged symptoms of COVID-19, the researchers said.

"Many children have had to be hospitalized because of Delta and Omicron but their symptoms were less severe," Messiah said.  The researchers said the finding is important because it focuses on the presence of non-hospitalized youth.

He further said that about 1.5 per cent of the children showed symptoms of coronavirus, including loss of taste and smell, and fatigue and coughing for four weeks.  The study also found that an additional 3.3 percent of children reported that they experienced a loss of taste and smell.  The scientist said, those who have not been vaccinated, they are more at risk of getting infected with coronavirus.
