In view of increasing cases of Corona virus in Pakistan, a decision has been taken to impose a lockdown for two weeks in the cities of Lahore Rawalpindi Sargodha Faisalabad Multan Gujranwala and Gujarat. During this time there will be a ban on the movement of people.

Corona is gaining momentum once again in Pakistan. A decision has been taken to lockdown seven cities of Punjab province amid the third wave of Covid-19 epidemic in the country. Several restrictions, including movement of people, will be imposed in all the seven cities from Monday. Lockdown is being imposed again in Pakistan, almost a year after the lockdown caused by the corona virus last year. The lockdown will remain in force for two weeks in the cities of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala and Gujarat.

According to a statement released by the Punjab Provincial Government on Saturday, the lockdown will restrict movement of people. There will be a complete ban on all types of ceremonies for social, religious or other purposes in any place, public or private. During this time, wedding-party halls and community centers will also be closed. There will also be a complete ban on indoor and outdoor food. However, only takeaway and home delivery will be allowed.

The statement also said that there will be a complete ban on all kinds of sports, cultural and other activities and programs throughout the province. On Saturday also, the Punjab government has implemented smart lockdown in 36 more areas of three cities including Lahore.

Travel restrictions on flights

Amid growing cases of Corona, Pakistan has also extended the duration of the restrictions imposed on flights. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said in a notification on Saturday that the restrictions have been extended to 18 March. The CAA implemented new rules for inbound flights, private and chartered aircraft, on 1 March.

Corona cases exceed 6 lakhs

Corona virus cases have crossed 6 lakh in Pakistan. Covid-19 infection has killed 13,476 people since it was reported last February. According to a report by Geo News, 2,338 cases were reported in the last 24 hours and 46 patients died due to the disease.
