ED Raid: Prem Prakash arrested in illegal mining case, ED found two AK-47 rifles in raid

ED has arrested businessman Prem Prakash in illegal mining case in Jharkhand. The ED had raided several locations in Jharkhand on Wednesday. Two AK-47s were recovered in a raid that lasted for several hours. Prem Prakash, arrested from Ranchi, will be produced in the court. The ED will seek his remand from the court.
Prem Prakash is said to be close to Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Prem Prakash also has links with many other leaders. It is alleged that he has made black money white of many big politicians and bureaucrats of Jharkhand. The ED had raided the premises of Prem Prakash after questioning Pankaj Mishra, MLA representative of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The ED had arrested Pankaj Mishra on July 19 under the Money Laundering Act.
Two AK-47s recovered
The ED has recovered two AK-47 rifles from Prem Prakash's cupboard in his house. Apart from this, 60 live cartridges were also found from his house. The ED had conducted raids in Jharkhand, Bihar, Delhi and Tamil Nadu. ED has also found documents related to tortoise of foreign breed and transactions worth crores.

Ranchi Police claims about AK-47
Ranchi Police claimed that AK-47s were allotted to two security personnel. The security personnel kept the rifle at Prem Prakash's residence and went to their respective homes. Both the security personnel have been suspended for negligence.
What did the ED officials say on the arrest?
An ED official told news agency ANI that Prem Prakash has been arrested on charges of illegal mining, money laundering and his role in a suspected criminal nexus between Jharkhand administration, businessmen and politicians.
