Twitter said on Monday that payments made to whistleblowers did not violate any of the terms of the Musk-Twitter deal between Elon Mask and Twitter. Twitter says Elon Musk is deliberately dragging the issue down and making it a reason to cancel the deal.

In a letter to Twitter on Friday, Musk's lawyers alleged that his consent was not obtained before the whistleblower was paid $7.75 million, according to a Reuters report. This suggests that Twitter can make such payments.

Twitter's lawyers responded on Monday, saying that Musk's argument for withdrawing from the deal was invalid and false. Shares of social media company Twitter were down nearly 2% at $41.37 on Monday, well below Musk's offer price of $54.20.

Trial will start in October

Jatko, who was fired by Twitter as security chief in January, accused the social media firm of falsely claiming it had a solid security plan in place last month. He had said that the company was making false statements about its defense against hackers and spam accounts.

Elon Musk, owner of electric car company Tesla, announced the cancellation of the deal, accusing Twitter of giving false information about spam or bot accounts on the platform. Let us tell you that the legal action between Twitter and Musk is going to start on October 17 in the Delaware Chancery Court in the US.

Majority of shareholders is in the favor to sale Twitter

On the other hand, a majority of Twitter Inc. shareholders have voted in favor of the sale of the social media company to Elon Musk for $44 billion. Shareholders' vote on the deal has been set for Tuesday, but by Monday evening, enough investors had voted.

Musk's offer to Twitter after the downturn in the stock market is finding shareholders tempting. Twitter shares are currently around $41. Earlier on Monday, Twitter said that payments made to whistleblowers do not violate any terms of the sale to Musk.
