Explosions in Kabul On Saturday, two consecutive bomb blasts took place in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. Two new explosions occurred in western Kabul on Saturday, amid several incidents of explosions in Afghanistan. According to local media, the blast took place in the Dasht-e-Barchi neighbourhood, where the Hazara community lives in Kabul
Khama Press reported that the first explosion reportedly took place at 6:45 pm in front of a congested commercial market and later another bomb exploded at the Pul-e-Khush bus stop.
The blast comes days after at least 20 people were killed in an explosion at a mosque during Friday prayers in northwestern Afghanistan.
According to a statement by the Taliban's interior ministry, the explosion was a result of sticky bombs placed on bicycles, injuring three civilians. Khama Press quoted sources as saying that injured civilians were rushed to nearby hospitals in the area immediately after the blast.
The Shia suburb west of Kabul has been repeatedly targeted over the years. Hundreds of Hazara civilians have been killed in several attacks and now atrocities against this community are on the rise.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blasts.
Ever since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, explosions have become a new normal in the country. Recently, a suicide bombing took place in front of the Russian embassy in which more than 15 people including two employees of the embassy were killed.
