'FIR Filed, Purpose of Plea Fulfilled': Supreme Court on the sexual harassment case of wrestlers

Hearing On Wrestlers Case: After hearing the petition of women wrestlers, the Supreme Court closed the case. The bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice DY Chandrachud said that we are closing this matter here. If there is any further complaint, it can be placed before the Magistrate or the High Court.
During the hearing, the Solicitor General of the Government of India told the bench that the court had directed security to the complainant. Adequate protection has been given to the minor complainant.
Policemen in plain clothes are providing security, so that the identity cannot be revealed. The remaining 6 were not found to be in danger but they have also been given security.
Solicitor General gave information
The Solicitor General told the CJI that we are conducting a fair investigation. Statements of the complainants are being taken. The report has been given to the court in a sealed envelope.
A senior IPS is investigating. It will not be right that the petitioner should say that this should be done first or that should be done first.
He further said that CrPC 161 statements are happening right now. Soon statements under section 164 will be recorded before the magistrate.
FIR has been registered – CJI
After the hearing, the CJI said, 3 petitioners had come to us. He told that he has represented India at the international level. We issued a notice to the police. The police told us that they would file an FIR. FIR has been registered at Connaught Place police station. There is an FIR of 354, 354A, 354B and POCSO Act.
The CJI said, the statement of the minor complainant was recorded on 29 April. The statement took place in the presence of 4 women police constables. Other statements have also been taken on 3rd May. Solicitor said that statements will be recorded before the magistrate soon.
CJI ordered to close the case
The demand for FIR was placed with us, it has been fulfilled. We ordered security, that too has been given. We are closing this matter here. If there is any further complaint, it can be placed before the Magistrate or the High Court.
