112 people have lost their lives due to floods and landslides in Nepal in the last 24 hours. 68 people are missing and more than 100 people are injured. According to the Nepal Armed Police Force and Police, a total of 34 bodies were found in Kavrepalan Chowk till Sunday morning.

At the same time, 20 bodies have been found in Lalitpur, 15 in Dhading, 12 in Kathmandu, 7 in Makawanpur, 4 in Sindhupalchowk, 3 in Dolakha and 5-5 bodies have been found in Panchthar and Bhaktapur districts. Two bodies each have been found in Dhankuta and Solukhumbu and one each in Ramchhap, Mahottari and Sunsari districts.

Heavy damage in Kathmandu Valley due to rain

Nepal's Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak said that heavy rains have caused a lot of damage in the Kathmandu Valley. Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have been deployed in relief and rescue operations. He said that information about the damage is being collected.

Heavy rain warning in 56 districts

On Saturday, 323 mm of rain was recorded in Nepal's capital Kathmandu in 24 hours. This is the highest rainfall in the last 54 years. The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Authority has also issued a heavy rain warning in 56 out of 77 districts. The authority advised people to be cautious.

Monsoon arrives in Nepal in June

The authority estimates that more than four lakh people will be affected by floods and rain. Let us tell you that monsoon starts coming in Nepal around June 13 and returns by the end of September. But this time it is expected to remain till October. According to the Nepal Meteorological Office, 1,586.3 mm of rain has occurred in the country till Friday morning. Last year 1,303 mm of rain was recorded.
