'I have respect for every community..... 'Yash Dayal after deleting controversial Instagram story, know what's the matter
Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat Titans fast bowler Yash Dayal posted an anti-Islamic cartoon on Instagram. Now he has apologized by deleting this post. It also said that the post was published "by mistake".
Yash may have removed that post from Instagram but before that many screenshots of that post had already been taken. Along with this, it was also being shared rapidly on different social media.
Dayal later posted another post on Instagram, writing: "Friends, I apologize for the (Instagram) story that was shared by mistake. Please don't spread hate. I respect all religions. "
ESPNcricinfo has sought their comments from the BCCI and Gujarat Titans on the subject. If we get any response from them, we will update it in this story.
Should the BCCI or Gujarat choose to take action against Dayal? He has a high-profile precedent from 2021, when the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) suspended England fast bowler Olly Robinson for eight matches. He was fined around 3.5 lakh rupees after being investigated for racist and sexist tweets posted between 2012 and 2014.
The 26-year-old Dayal has been playing cricket for Uttar Pradesh since 2018. However, on April 9 this year, he came into limelight after he hit five sixes in an over in a match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad.
After that he did not play any match for more than a month. However, after that he got a chance to play in two matches.
He was bought by Gujarat team before IPL 2022. He played nine matches in his debut season. During this, he took 11 wickets while bowling at an economy of 9.25.
