Japan PM attacked with 'smoke bomb' during speech, viral video

There are reports of a fatal attack on the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida. A man reportedly threw a pipe bomb at him during a speech in Wakayama City. However, by the time the bomb exploded, PM Kishida was safely taken out. It is reported that just after Kishida was being escorted from where the speech was to take place, a huge bang was heard.

A video of the incident is also going viral, in which people who came to listen to PM Kishida speech can be seen running here and there after the incident. During this, the policemen were also seen controlling a person by making him fall on the ground. It has been told that the PM has not suffered any injury in the incident. He had come to speak at an event in support of his Liberal Democratic Party candidate.
The former PM was killed nine months ago
The attack on Fumio Kishida comes just nine months after the assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Shinzo was attacked in July 2022 by a man with a homemade gun. The former PM had died in this incident.
