New Delhi, ANI. Cases of coronavirus infection are on the rise again in the country amid fears of a third wave of the corona. More than 41,000 corona cases have been reported across the country in the last 24 hours. According to the latest data of the Union Health Ministry, 41,831 new corona cases were registered in the country on Saturday. During this period, 541 patients lost their lives due to corona infection, while 39,258 people overcame the infection. Now, the number of active cases has gone up to 4,04,804. With this, a total of 3.16 crore corona cases have been reported in the country. A total of 3.08 crore people have recovered so far, while 4.24 lakh people have lost their lives.
Kerala has the highest number of active cases, currently the worst affected state with coronavirus, with more than 20,000 cases being reported in a row for five days. 20,624 cases were registered here on Saturday. Here, 80 people died of corona infection, while 16,865 people overcame the disease. The number of active cases in Kerala has now gone up to 1,64,500. In view of the increasing number of cases in Kerala, a complete weekend lockdown has been put in place this time. Only essential commodity shops have been exempted.
Lockdown-like restrictions in 8 States
There are complete lockdown-like restrictions in 8 States of the country. These include West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Mizoram, Goa, and Puducherry. There have been stringent restrictions as soon as the last lockdown.
Partial lockdown in 23 States/UTs is a partial lockdown in 23 States and Union Territories of the country. There is also exemption along with restrictions. These include Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh, and Gujarat.
