People trapped due to smoke and fire

New York City fire officials responded shortly after 2 p.m. Pfeiffer said the fire broke out on the third floor of a six-story residential building at 2 St. Nicholas Place in Harlem, sending flames and heavy smoke into the hallway and leaving residents above unable to escape.
