North Korea's state media KCNA said on Monday that the country conducted an "important, final stage" test on Sunday in the development of a spy satellite. Which he wants to complete by April 2023.
The report was released a day after South Korean and Japanese militaries reported the North's launch of two medium-range ballistic missiles toward its east coast.
KCNA said the test, conducted at the Sohae Satellite Launching Station in the northwestern city of Tongchang-ri, was aimed at reviewing the country's capability of satellite imaging, data transmission and ground control systems.
It said a vehicle carrying the artificial satellite was fired at a 'high angle' of 500 km (311 mi).
